Ark Voted “Best of” In Multiple Categories

When The Ark was envisioned and created, it set out to be the “Best in the Midwest.” Recent rankings for the McPherson Sentinel’s “Best of the Best” competition confirmed The Ark is living up to its goals.

The Ark Antiques and Flea Market has been voted “Best Antique Store” every year since its inception. It has earned “Best Gift Store” and “Best Furniture Store” for both 2023 and 2024. In 2024, The Ark also picked up “Best Jewelry Store.”

This year also brought recognition to The Ark from a human resources perspective, earning The Ark “Best Workplace” and naming Ben Coffey as “Best Boss.”

“You never leave your shift at The Ark feeling unheard,” said Raina Decker, The Ark’s marketing & promotions coordinator. “I have developed lifelong relationships and connections from working here. It feels like a family within a family business.” Decker is close to entering her second year working for The Ark.

“Ben encourages showing your best self and is always striving to move The Ark in the very best way to proceed,” said Kim Johnson, lead cashier. “There is always a wonderful, fun feeling when you enter.” Johnson has been with the Ark almost since it opened in 2020.

“There is a great atmosphere of working together, learning to do new things, and working alongside people with different backgrounds and experiences,” said Mike Bruns, operations coordinator. Bruns started at The Ark as a vendor and has worked in this part-time role for more than two years now.

“It was so encouraging to receive the recognition of our values and priorities coming to fruition, said Ben Coffey, The Ark’s founder and owner. Creating and leading The Ark continues to be a rewarding experience each day. Thank you to everyone for your votes and support–it means the world to our family and team!”
